Thanks, I opened my own commercial website up more than ten years ago and wrote my home page myself, submitted my site including my site index to Google and Yahoo and after I carried out that work, my website appeared on the front page of Google search results and in the top five on Yahoo and in some cases, number one on Yahoo! That was in spite of the industry leader at that time who was much more established, ranking on the second page for the same search terms! Ooops!
What I did was go out and buy four or five books, read them, look up key words to use in my home page relevant to the subject matter of my site and write it very well so it didn't look like, nor read like any kind of spam.
I come from a family of journalists, so one thing I can do is write! No doubt things have changed immensely since that time. However, I feel proud of the fact that lil ole me, sitting here at this desk fulfilled the conditions to get the two top search engines in the world at that time to list my website on the front page of the search results!
SEO takes many forms, getting your articles in the right place on the search results no matter how you do it is one of them.
I'd be happy to write pages for the website, all they have to do is pay me in shares! lol
