What kind of costs would be involved with Ancestry testing of subjects going through clinical trials on potential new drugs? However drugs may be accepted for advantageous use in certain sectors of the population and not recommended in other population sectors. Tony's ideas are cutting edge for sure. Just think what the world of medacine will be in a decade? A newborn child's DNA can be tested for susceptabilities to certain likely outcomes later in life. Have a child early then take corrective action for probable types of cancers. Diet and exercise regamins for prevention of heart problems., diabetes, and strokes etc. The times they are a changin.

W2P, we both know that the use of subjective racial categories as per the initial guidelines will almost certainly be mandated by the FDA. We also both know that this will result in scientific data that is effectively worthless for ascertaining population structure based influences on clinical trial results. It would be nice to see the FDA do the right thing, but I suspect that "political" considerations will militate against this.
