passport is good but drivers license usually works.....DL with birth certificate will always work.

If you leave the country a passport is the best but a U.S. Driver's license is probably all you need for Canada...

Crossing from Niagra Falls over to Casino Niagra on the
Canadian side all you got to show is driver license or
picture ID of some sort..at least that's the way it was
a few years ago..

You just need proper ID. A passport is good to have but not necessary.Drivers licence will do.

If you are driving and have an original birth certificate, bring that. Otherwise a photo driver's license will do for now.

Flying is tighter wrt the requirements, maybe a passport.

Why take a chance? Use your passport. I always use it when I go to Vancouver.
