Nice try bud. In 2016 the IIROC issued 1046 halts of which 123 resulted in cease trade orders. The vast majority of trading halts are issued because surveillance staff believe that the information is material enough to significantly impact the price of the security. A trading halt is a temporary pause in trading to allow the market to properly absorb the information. It is based on the principle that all investors should have the same timely access to important company information.
This is why you invest in companies that you have done your DD on and with management you trust. This is also why you don't short those companies.
The majority of investors here are excited about this halt because we know if this isn't related to the license the odds are good that there is some significant news about to be released. Seems pretty clear to me by reading this board and others that shorters are sharting their pants over this.
