I do not see where the SEC has paid out anything to shareholders who lost money last year only to universities.
For the 2024–25 fiscal year, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) distributed a record $1.03 billion to its 16 member universities.
If you are referring to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), that agency typically collects fines rather than paying out dividends to stockholders. In FY2024, the U.S. SEC collected $8.2 billion in financial remedies.
