Fire crews battle a blaze at Sydenham’s General Gordon Hotel
SIX fire crews have battled a huge fire burning at a popular Sydney pub — a year after the owners forked out $18 million for it.
No, wasn't in it at the time, just taking a break and on the way up. On the sidewalk, on the way, i met one of the ladies who worked behind the bar. She told me, but as she was a kidder i didn't believe her at first. After a chat she almost had me convinced it was true. Minutes after leaving her there it was. Fire hoses knocking down walls. It's extra sad for some, I have a dear 79 year-old friend who is on a walker. It was the nearest social venue she could get to. As far as i know the cause is still unknown.
