Responding to PragerU's video 'Is There Life After This Life?'
Dennis Prager uses some really weak arguments to tell us that there must be an after life...there must be a life after death...because feels.
His whole argument seems to be predicated on not liking the reality of the situation if there is no life after death, instead of offering any evidence for an afterlife.

Statement by the Press Secretary on the FISA Amendments Reauthorization Act of 2017
Issued on: January 19, 2018
Today, President Donald J. Trump signed into law the FISA Amendments Reauthorization Act of 2017. The Act renews the authority of the United States under section 702 of FISA to collect foreign intelligence on foreign targets overseas. It also permits our Nation’s defenders to share information that prevents terrorist attacks and cyber crimes. Our Nation wisely removed barriers to connecting intelligence dots after 9/11, and this reauthorization permits those important linkages to remain intact, while strengthening protections for Americans against government abuse.
This six-year reauthorization was achieved with bipartisan support, recognizing the importance of FISA section 702 in producing foreign intelligence that protects our country from foreign terrorists and other foreign threats. The Act enhances existing protections for Americans’ privacy and adds oversight against abuse.
Intelligence produced under this authority is vital to keeping the Nation safe. As shown by the recent attacks in New York City and elsewhere around the globe, we face a constant threat from foreign terrorist networks and other foreign actors who would do us harm.
We acknowledge Congress for their support in reauthorizing these authorities and contribution to the safety of our Nation.

Meacham on govt. shutdown: We lack presidential leadership
The 11th Hour with Brian Williams 1/20/18
With the beginning of Trump's second year in office starting under a government shutdown, author & presidential historian Jon Meacham says America lacks presidential leadership right now.
Senate Democrats own the Schumer Shutdown. Tonight, they put politics above our national security, military families, vulnerable children, and our country’s ability to serve all Americans. We will not negotiate the status of unlawful immigrants while Democrats hold our lawful citizens hostage over their reckless demands. This is the behavior of obstructionist losers, not legislators. When Democrats start paying our armed forces and first responders we will reopen negotiations on immigration reform. During this politically manufactured Schumer Shutdown, the President and his Administration will fight for and protect the American people.

Between his lax approach to work, his short attention span, his diet and his demeanor, Donald Trump ensured his first year as U.S. president was as juvenile as possible.
Now that Trump has admitted his promised wall won't stretch all the way across the U.S.-Mexico border, one has to wonder what other concessions he's willing to make.

Rettig's nomination would break 20 years of precedent in which IRS leaders have come to the top job from business and management backgrounds. His knowledge of the nuances of tax law is likely to come into play as the agency issues dozens of rules to guide corporations and individuals navigating the tax overhaul that took effect Jan. 1. The agency must implement deep tax cuts as well as numerous far-reaching changes to the tax code.
But the IRS is saddled with outdated technology that could make that job more difficult. Its budget has been cut repeatedly in recent years by Republicans still angered by the agency’s previous targeting of conservative political groups for extra scrutiny when they applied for tax-exempt status.
The agency is also fighting an onslaught of tax-return fraud related to identity theft.

Trump Picks California Lawyer to Head IRS
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESSFEB. 8, 2018, 2:01 P.M. E.S.T.
WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump's pick to lead the IRS is Charles Rettig, a tax lawyer from Beverly Hills, California.
If the Senate confirms him as head of the government's tax collection agency, Rettig would administer the Republican tax code overhaul. He has represented thousands of individuals and companies in civil and criminal tax matters before the IRS. Rettig has also served as chair of the IRS advisory council, which serves as a public forum for discussing tax issues with IRS officials.
Rettig has also defended Trump's decision to break with tradition by not releasing his own tax filings during the 2016 presidential campaign.
