We turn now to a powerful new book, released today, that tells the story of one woman as she fights back against the impacts of social and racial injustice in America on her family. That woman is Patrisse Khan-Cullors, co-founder of Black Lives Matter. The book, titled “When They Call You a Terrorist: A Black Lives Matter Memoir [ https://www.amazon.com/When-They-Call-You-Terrorist/dp/1250171083 ],” is both an account of survival, strength and resilience, and a call to action to change the culture that declares innocent black life expendable. Patrisse’s story follows her childhood in Los Angeles in the late 1990s and early 2000s, as her mother worked three jobs, struggling to earn a living wage. And it puts a human face on the way mass incarceration and the war on drugs hurt young black men, including her relatives and friends. Patrisse’s father was a victim of the drug war. He died at the age of 50. Her brother spent years in prison for nonviolent crimes stemming from his battles against mental illness. He was once even charged with terrorism after being involved in a car accident. The police would target Patrisse, too—raiding her house without just cause. In 2013, after George Zimmerman was acquitted for the killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, Patrisse co-founded Black Lives Matter along with Alicia Garza and Opal Tometi. The movement began online but soon spread across the country. We speak to Patrisse and her co-author, asha bandele. asha is author of five books, including the best-seller “The Prisoner’s Wife [ https://www.amazon.com/Prisoners-Wife-Memoir-asha-bandele/dp/0671021486 ].” She is a senior director at the Drug Policy Alliance. https://www.democracynow.org/2018/1/16/when_they_call_you_a_terrorist[with embedded video, and transcript]

This is the hardest video I've made to date. It's a video about the Native American boarding/residential schools that the indigenous people of North America were forced to attend.
These people were taken from their families in an effort to assimilate them. They weren't allowed to speak their Native tongue, grow long hair or leave the school. Many would go ten months without seeing their family - some never left.
I tried to let them tell their story, as well as add statistics I thought were important.

Hypnotist Reveals Secrets Of Mind Control While On The Streets Of Austin, TX.
In this ‘Matrix’ themed video, Infowars reporter Millie Weaver interviews Elizabeth Everett about neurolinguistics and hypnotic techniques used by mainstream media to condition the public for ideological submission.
Playing the role as the 'Lady in Red', Millie's body is digitally enhanced morphing her into the societal idea of perfection demonstrating a secret editing method used by Hollywood in movies and music videos. This technology creates the illusion that celebrities uniquely have an unobtainable appearance of perfection, worthy of only the stars, while placing the viewer in a self-conscious mental state. Then Millie and Elizabeth engage man-on-the-street conversations demonstrating, case in point, that the general public will fight to protect the very system that enslaves them.
Don't confuse belief in objectivity with being objective, a mistake I constantly see arrogant theists make when they juxtapose the virtues of their God-given moral compass with my aimless atheism, without realizing that they're in the same boat I am, trying to make our way in a sea of moral ideas presented by lowly people.
The physical examination was performed and supervised by Ronny L. Jackson, MD, FAAEM, Physician to the President and Director of the White House Medical Unit.
The false narrative that President Trump is mentally unfit for office took a major hit today, as President Trump voluntarily took a mental cognition test and got a perfect score. That didn't stop the liberal press from attacking Admiral Jackson's public address on Trump's health, as they immediately jumped back on the bandwagon that he is mentally unfit. Meanwhile, Jim Jordan releases his 18 questions addressing the fake Trump Dossier.

Rats are grosser than we thought, but it's not their fault.
It's estimated that there are over 2 million rats in New York City alone. They often carry infectious diseases like E. Coli and Salmonella and gnaw on infrastructure, causing billions of dollars in damage every year.
But is any of this the rat's fault? Rodentologist Bobby Corrigan says that rats can only succeed in the midst of human failure. If we were smarter mammals, better at disposing our trash and taking care of our infrastructure, then we wouldn't have to worry about rats in our cities.

Democracy is in retreat in the U.S. and around the world, report finds. What happened?
Published on Jan 16, 2018 by PBS NewsHour
Democracy faced its most serious crisis in decades last year. That stark verdict comes from the annual report [ https://freedomhouse.org/report/freedom-world/freedom-world-2018 ] of Freedom House [ https://freedomhouse.org/ ], which charted the world's 12th consecutive year of decline in freedom. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Ohio Gov. John Kasich join Judy Woodruff to discuss the disturbing findings and the deeper ramifications at home and abroad.
2018 is off to a rough start for the Missouri governor Eric Greitens. The former Navy seal, Rhodes scholar, White House fellow and humanitarian is accused of typing up his mistress and photographing her naked to blackmail her from speaking about their affair.
While he admitted the affair, he denies the blackmail allegations.
But his White House aspirations appear to be dwindling by the day.
Speaking with lawmakers and Missourians over the holiday weekend, VICE News found that allegations aside, there are plenty of other reasons Missourians hate Greitens. In just one year in office, he made it more difficult for workers to win discrimination lawsuits, introduced further abortion restrictions and allowed Republican legislators to roll back the minimum wage in St. Louis from $10.00 per hour to $7.70. Almost everyone we spoke with took issue with the Governors lack of transparency and dark money donors.
On Tuesday, several Republican state legislators called for his resignation. Senator Rob Schaaf, a Republican from Saint Joseph, addressed the governor from the Senate Floor:
"It was going to be hard enough without the allegations, but you have made governing impossible,” he told the quite chamber. “Governor I’m asking you, please resign."
