austin: No one deserves blind trust. My trust is based on questions I have asked, logic, and my past experience in general with the leaders of RIM. It even comes down to small things such as this. I played golf with Brad last September, and Ray last Sunday. Both were honest in their strokes on every hole. They took penalties when they earned them and didn't improve the lie of their ball. If someone is trustworthy in the little things, they often are in the big things.

I also have dealt with people and their money for the last 19 years as a financial planner. I have a pretty good sense when people are truthful. As far as trust, there are two areas of trust. 1) That the person is trustworthy. 2) That they know what they are doing. I have never had either Brad or Ray tell me anything that proved to be at all dishonest, and it has been my experience that Brad tends to understate things. As far as their competence, Ray has kept NV afloat financially which has been no small task, and tried to keep the shareholders from being taken advantage of. He also worked out a very good distribution deal for the movie it seems, as well as promotion of it. Brad seems to be making very good choices, has great contacts, and excellent vision, so time will tell whether he can pull off what what is needed. I am not from this industry, so it is hard for me to judge what should, or should not be done.

In any event my trust is not blind. I have spent considerable time with Brad, and spoken to both of them many more times, as well as others I respect who have had a lot of contact with them. The general consensus of those people is that RIM is well positioned with leadership and product to do exactly what Brad laid out at the SH meeting.

austin01 - No company deserves blind trust ever. But in this situation the company has drawn the line and that is the "Risk" we all have chosen. As it stands now that "Risk" is extremely high. In the end we all have 3 choices to make based on the known facts, general speculations and company promises...We can Buy, Sell or Hold....

For me I am extremely skeptical that the tech will ever see the light of day. But there is something about the company holding this 30+ cent base since Feb 03 that has me intrigued(sp). I am tempted to sink a little more of my winnings elsewhere into this thing....God help my sorry Judgement but that voice keeps calling....
