limtex...i will let others chime in on your secular bull market call, it is in error i believe..your other comment about cancer is quite possible, or at least that it will be "maintainable" in most forms, this is an area i follow, there are many routes being explored, the most likely scenario that will occur is that a combination of therapies of those that "pan out" (either biological or traditional) will lead to an "aids like treatment" where it no longer becomes deadly, at least in the majority, but there are still hurdles...the only true breakthru lately is gleevec and thats not at all perfect. There is the chance, albiet small, that someone has the holy grail (geron?) that could lead to true breakthroughs, not just baby steps (baby steps are good though)It seems probable that at least the "side effect" problems are slowly being overcome and that's a big plus. Now, if that little company mentioned starts doing nvec type moves, i will have a watermelon smile..but thats a bit in the future.

limtex, <at the begining of a huge technology cycle>

Sure hope you are correct and that good jobs will begin to created in the US. My suspicion is that any benefits from your outlook are at least two years away.

The SPX is priced where it was five years ago. The new secular bull market that you predict is not evident.

FWIW your optimistic views are appreciated by this individual.
