This must mean that Tanglewood is using some radical new micro-architecture.

Its described as an Itanium so most likely nothing to do with pentium M, could this be the work of designers from former alpha people or at least significant input from them. Once again this stuff is way over my head.

Beamer re:6 Itanium 2 cores - or even 4 cores - on a single piece of silicon - even at 65nm - would not be manufactureable, let alone come close to current power envelopes.

A 16-core design isn't totally unprecedented for the Santa Clara, Calif.-based chipmaker, Brookwood added: Intel sells a network processor with 16 cores today.

What's that mean??
