1. First, the mm's tend to work differently on different stocks. To make a generalization such as your question would be a certain mistake as an investor.
2. Second, as regards GZFX, the mm's operate primarily in percentage swings. In a down trend, it is easrier for them to take the stock down on less volume. In an uptrend, it is easier for them to take the stock up on less volume. Once again, to make the generalization you suggest would be an investing mistake.
