EW, I agree; personal contact, or the words of those whom you trust, means a lot in forming an impression of an individual. People can hide behind a facade for just so long before the truth eventually reveals itself. And this holds true, of course, for the impressions people have formed of Brad Ketch. I've not read a single negative impression voiced here by those who have had a chance to meet him and talk with him (if this isn't so, I'm sure I'll be quickly informed!). I've spoken with him on the phone on couple of occasions and came away with the feeling that he was trustworthy and honest. In fact, it is my understanding that, for this very reason, many fund managers make it a point to visit the senior mgmt of the very companies in which they are considering investing. It is on this basis, primarily, I continue to have upbeat feelings about the company. Yes, they've had their share of miscues - some might put that a bit more strongly, especially those who were around when the mgmt was at the bottom of their learning curve, and it was their (the s/h's) money which paid for their education. More's the pity for that. Now, we have a better mgmt team, imho. Ones who have been through the system and bring their education with them.
Infallible? Not by a long shot BUT We cannot dismiss the fact that Brad's rating by the s/h's who have met him is pretty solid. Thus, I submit, we have to start taking "new pictures" and not rely on or continue to view the older pix of this company's mgmt team as reflective of who is in charge now.
Mgmt recognizes the s/h's need for affirmation of their ability to bring the tech home; it for that reason, amongst others, that they have given us a new set of timelines (it took a lot of moxey to do that!) by which they're telling us to feel free to measure our performance NOW. I believe it is reflective of that in-your-face daring that some have relented and allowed them the additional time for them to prove themselves. I certainly feel all the better for it.
I think September will prove to be an "interesting" month (But not in the Chinese sense of the word, as in "May you live in interesting times"! LOL). I think/hope that the name change announcement may not be the only release - beside the continued updates about SIL, perhaps more about the funding,
? completion schedule of the FPGA - if any change -
perhaps the Portland move, etc. This is all speculation based upon what we know (what things are in the works) and all IMO.
