A lot of polar bear clubs are going to be suffering when they climb out of the water. I usually hit some local hot springs here, it is fun to sit in the 104 degree water with huge billows of steam and watch the meteor show-- clear skies at high elevation make great viewing. The meteor shower a couple weeks ago was awesome, bursts of them in red, blue, and white streaks.

All day Thursday meteorologists are going to be glued to the new GOES-East satellite watching a truly amazing extratopical "bomb" cyclone off New England coast. It will be massive -- fill up entire Western Atlantic off U.S. East Coast. Pressure as low as Sandy & hurricane winds
