Thanks Walterc, Nice to hear from you after seeing your resume. A little bit sorry about the "bean counter" comment. But I have seen a number of good projects which had "kinda good" financials but lots of unquantifiable but very favorable factors be killed because the NPV or IRR was just a little bit short of some arbitrary cutoff, or the risk factor was a litle bit above higher than they were comfortable with.
I agree with all of the comments about additional drilling / ore body expansion, it will happen (from down hole locations not at ground surface) but not until there is some cash flow from operations.
