I think cnbc is being used as a mouth piece.

Over the last few years I've become more and more wise to the games played by the brokers and I wouldn't put it past them to have been upgrading this and that and buying futures when the market falls while they either sell a little into the rallies or buy puts knowing that when they return they'll be out to sell the stocks which have gained 2-3 times in the last year.......... they can sell lots for long term gains now and if I'm not mistaken, their bonuses get pegged to what returns the fund made by Sept. 30th.

When the big boys return after labor day..... are they gonna say... oh gee! I think I can get another 10% or 50% or are they gonna lock in those gains? Wouldn't take many selling funds to create a run to the doors........ improving economy or not.

Ork: Thanks for the Russell and Lowry update. I have described this market as one of "trading places." At the beginning of this month, I speculated that the next step was the Dow to make a higher high and drag the rest of the crap up. It happened. Now the Dow has faltered on its "break out" and the Nasdaq is on top of the heap with its "break out." The trend is nowhere for the overall market.

There has ben one group of sellers -- insiders. Insiders are selling into the mutual fund inflows -- one group of buyers.
