Steve Saville has pointed out that explosive moves in gold as we are seeing now usually occur either soon before or soon after MAJOR stock market peaks. This looks like a pre-peak move IMHO. But the surge in gold is still another factor auguring for a big drop once the stock market turns south for real.
Zeev: Yes, the net new highs contracted on this most recent rally over that of June and July. The 50 dma of new new highs is apparently showing the first signs of rolling over having peaked at the end of July. No biggie yet as new lows have been asleep. What has kept this thing up in the face of that is the absence of sellers. What do you think?
I think poor volume goes hand in hand with this week.
