Some real life experience ...If I have to live through another Hepatic Toxicity lecture from my Cardiologist ...:-)
I'm on max dose Crestor ...every time my Cardiologist asks me if I drink alcohol , and I answer "yes a glass or two of red wine with dinner "...I get the Hepatic Toxicity lecture .
Doubt any Cardiologist is prescribing a med to their Hetero FH patients ( who will often be on max dose Statins ) that in anyway raises their ALT / AST enzymes level ...no matter how mild.
On the other hand ...should a drug come along like MGL-3196 that IMPROVES liver enzymes as well as lowering LDL, TG , Lp(a) etc ...then I can see a day when my Cardiologist might say ..." You know that glass of wine you like to have with dinner ...well just take some MGL-3196 as well....:-) "
