#18521 RE: Johnny Salt #18520

Johnny, Your observation is not in a vacuum. Several of my friends (and I have also noticed in my own travels) observed shrinking shelf presence and restocking problems.

I do attribute this to several things.

Locally, popularity and consumer purchases vary. Retailers have to make adjustments. Some carry more and some less.

Jefferson's small batch extensions sometimes disappear and reappear. That's the nature of not mass producing them.

Goslings Rum is confusing. They are in all the stores I go to. I see no signals of decline.

The Q's don't lie. There is a Rum decline somewhere, and our whiskeys and bourbon are growing in double digits.

GGB turns out to be a new distribution problem area. Somewhere along the line, Polar, distributors or retailers are dropping the ball. Shelves are sometimes bare and take too much time to be restocked. Other times, the "diet" is not present. My own observation is it sells out faster, but is restocked only when the regular is restocked.

A Miami Total Wine had 6 cases of regular GGB and no "diet". They are losing GGB sales.
