Corey Lewandowski’s Lesson For Harvard Students: Trump Did Great With Black Voters, And By The Way, I Didn’t Collude With Russia Why is Harvard doing this? First there was Sean Spicer, smarming and dissembling through his lectures as if he were back behind the White House briefing room podium. Now, Corey Lewandowski has become the latest former Trump employee to serve as a visiting fellow at the Institute of Politics at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. Lewandowski made a name for himself by lying on television, threatening reporters, grabbing and injuring then-Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields and most recently, being a man of conveniently shabby memory. He spent several days this week holding Q&A sessions with Harvard students, though none of the school’s social media accounts advertised his presence as they did Spicer’s. We can’t imagine why. According to the institute’s website, Lewandowski was supposed to spend that time bestowing upon the next class of public servants his “in-depth understanding of the political process and the administration of President Donald J. Trump.” And just like Spicer before him, each session began with the instruction that the hour to follow would be entirely off the record, much to the frustration of the Harvard students. Arkansas police department deletes overhyped warning about fentanyl after it goes viral A dangerous warning posted by a police department in Arkansas about fentanyl on shopping carts quickly went viral, but has since been deleted over concerns the guidance was overblown and not a genuine threat. Earlier this week, the Leachville Police Department shared an alert urging the public to wipe down their shopping cart handles before using them. In the post, the department said deadly drugs, namely fentanyl, could be left behind on the handle and enter the next person’s body through skin contact. "All you'd have to do is rub your nose or touch your child's mouth," the department wrote. "Children just being exposed to the powder or residue is a bad situation that can turn deadly." Lloyd’s can underwrite insurance that many insurance companies cannot because of the way it is set up: It operates as a marketplace in which underwriters come together as syndicates to pool risk. That brings together specialists in unusual areas, allowing it to insure things like the nose of .. https://www.thebalance.com/oddities-insured-by-lloyd-s-462503 .. a winemaker with a unique sense of smell.
That structure enables the Lloyd’s market to underwrite policies that other insurers may be hesitant to take on, like for firearms, according to experts.
“If there is an unusual or unpopular risk that needs to be met, someone somewhere in Lloyd’s is often willing to assess it and put a price on it. This applies to a wide range of insurance needs arising around the world,” said Andrew Duguid, the author of On the Brink: How a Crisis Transformed Lloyd’s of London.
And in the United States, those insurance needs include guns.
The National Rifle Association promotes a variety .. http://www.nraendorsedinsurance.com/products-property-liability-insurance .. of insurance products for gun owners and gun show promoters through Lloyd’s, including products that cover costs stemming from criminal and civil defense suits against the policyholder. According to the NRA’s website .. https://mynrainsurance.com/insurance-products/self-defense , the self-defense policy includes coverage for defense costs and damages in a civil suit and reimbursement for criminal defense costs upon acquittal.
The policies advertised on the website remain up to date, said Dean Davison, the senior vice president and director of communications for Lockton Companies, which administers the NRA-endorsed insurance.
The NRA declined to comment; contacted by Foreign Policy, a Lloyd’s spokesman in London did not respond to requests for comment, while a spokeswoman in New York declined to comment on the policies.
