Yes, a butload of people. Not only retail investors, but also professionals (who still are long with the company even after the heavy decline in PPS mind you).
I met Solomon when he was in Scandinavia in September (but I don't think of myself as a good "judge of character"). I haven't been to China myself (but I have met someone who has been), although both IR and Solomon made sure to tell me that I were very welcome to visit the facilities if I wanted (this should apply to all shareholders). Notice that noone claiming SIAF to be a scam has ever been in China or talked to Solomon (or care about facts).
SIAF have had investor tours for years, and hyperboy have posted several videoes on youtube. There are also a lot of pictures to be found on the internet from the facilities, as well as independent news articles. The latest article I know of is by undercurrentnews when they visited the megafarm on September 15th this year (i.e immediately after Solomon returned from his trip to Scandinavia). However, you have to make up your own mind. You might compare Solomon with those scams you have been hit by in the past. For instance; Solomon isn't afraid of having his name, picture or videoes of him on the internet (he has actually put both his name and picture on TRWs webpage).
This does not mean that he will do what we believe is best for shareholder value, especially not in the short run (well, maybe that is not true anymore, cfr COSO). There are also many reasons to why the PPS is so low, both good and bad reasons, and also both historical and current reasons. Unfortunately, there is not much we can do as long as he has his a-shares.
