You do realize mm's don't really 'take' the stock up or down, right? They match buyers and sellers. They take a small cut which is the spread. If I place a buy for 100M shares below market, they will try to fill my order by 'buying' below the price I have ordered and then 'selling' to me.
The takeaway is this: It isn't MM's that manipulate the price, it is traders trying to get the deal they want. MM's can't trade for themselves, that is illegal. They are more like brokers than anything.
So, when the price is going down, you can bet there is a buyer trying to get the shares at a lower price, and the MM's are trying to fulfill that order - and make some money in the process.
Most of the shares of any OTC stock, especially pinks, is not in ihub. We are a fringe group. There are 'whales' that spend their time making money on the pinks, and never checking into ihub. But if they do, they get a huge chuckle when they read that 'mm's are manipulating the price...as if they were even legally allowed to buy stock when there was no buyer for those shares...
MM's are not traders. Shareholders are traders, and the ones with the most money and shares bear a HUGE influence on prices of pinks...mm's just try to fill the orders.
