The Democrats have known for years that ACA was going to fail. Even Jonathan Gruber admitted that the ACA passed due to the "stupidity" of the American people. Add in Obama's lies and it was passed.
Why didn't they fix the problems when they were in control. Instead, they choose the kick the can down the road and let the GOP deal with it.
Congress should be forced to use ACA - if they think it is so great, why don't they want it for their families?
If I was an employee who made a visual political statement every time the entertainment package (football game, concert, visit to Starbucks, dinner at a restaurant) that I was an integral part of, I should not be surprised to be fired.
I would have to follow the rules of my employer. Why not in the NFL?
If I was a football player who wanted to stand for the national anthem and saw the ratings plunging--and I was entering into contract negotiations soon--I would be ticked off.
I would be crazy to think that the deterioration of the NFL experience is not going to impact my compensation. That is just common sense. (Wow. I might have stumbled on something. Common sense is not being used often nowadays.)
The economics of the NFL are changing fast. And with declining revenue comes tighter compensation controls going forward.
The NFL is no longer a Golden Goose.
The frustration is as much with the employers as the employees.
