I imagine the turtle and eddie m. really like having their roles undermined. This approach is probably so he can associate debt ceiling raising with dems, while being too complex for his base to understand.
But doing something that had to be done to keep the government from shutting down is hardly heroic leadership. And the actual conservatives consider it a bad deal... trump loves creating chaos with no plan on how to remedy it.
