I'm afraid it won't matter who we elect. If only it were as (relatively) simple as electing a new administration.
I think Bush walked right into the position that Osama wanted him to walk into.
This is the war.
I strongly disagree with this. I have been traveling through Europe a lot over the last 4 months and I think there is going to be a dramatic difference in the way European people see the American people if we re-elect Bush. They know our government lied to us. Their governments lie to them. Look at Blair. IF however we re elect Bush after no can find WMD and other mounting evidence that this war has no real justification, I think it is very possible that Europeans may not have sympathy for us if another 9/11 happens. I am already watching attitudes change dramatically.
Once the war machines wheels start rolling history shows us that a lot of blood is shed before they stop. I think this is the tip of the ice berg so far. However if we re elect Bush I think the rest of the world is going to see the American people in the same light as the American government. That certainly won't help. Imagine if terrorists have the symapathy of the majority of the world and they no longer see and interest in helping us as long terrorism does not affect them.
