Munger, at age 93, is much older than Buffett. Yes, both are rock stars.

There is an argument to be made that BRK may start paying cash dividends when Warren is gone. That would probably bring in people like me who only buy stocks that pay at least a small dividend. I follow about 15 fairly rigid investing rules and that dividend requirement is one of them.

My feeling is BRK's success isn't due primarily to Buffett's stock picking ability. My own stodgy blue chips have actually soundly beaten his for the past few years. But I'm not leveraged. Like him, I avoid cutting edge tech like DDD that rarely pays off.

I see too that DDD doesn't pay a dividend. My view (and I don't think Buffett would disagree generally) is that a cash dividend is some slight indication that a company is "for real." Few scam stocks pay dividends although Enron did pay a tiny one.
