Some guy decided to enlighten the masses on alternative energy. He actually tried to convince people in Kingston that a $27,000 Wind Turbine and an $18,000 Solar system that "almost supports his whole house,,,...is a "Good Idea"
Soalr and Wind are toast unless somebody actually builds cells or turbines that are affordable. It looks like the government is focused on FC's so I see a "rebate" that will get FC's into the home before sopmeone actually kicks in 50% of a wind turbine....tooo bad too, I could generate all my electricity by turbine, but need a $40,000 unit.
My Electrical bill per month is less than $100.00 so assuming Eves drops the subsidy and we goto .10c/KW hr then my bills will be about $200.00 which is $2400 per year, thats about a 16 year pay back or ROI, however, so far the life expectancy of a wind turbine is about 10-12 years, and after 2 years efficiency slowly degrades.
