I've been kind of curious if they are going the India route now in order to have some data before AACR 2007. I don't know if they would/could get approved for doing a presentation without the data already being known (perhaps enough single dose would get them in). If I remember correctly, they have to submit their abstract some time this fall.

I bought into PPHM for cancer. Everything I’ve read and heard from the company has led me to believe that they feel cancer is where B-Tux will make its mark. Most of viral – it can cure Ebola! – has been fantasy. Bird flu has and continues to be a long shot at best. I’m no insider by any stretch of the imagination, but I’ve chatted up officers, board members and a scientist at company functions, such as the annual SHM, and the distinct impression they have given me is that they strongly feel cancer is why the company will succeed.

When India was announced I was thrilled. Finally, by the middle of 07, we would know one way or the other whether PPHM was going to succeed. The combo trials in India are EVERYTHING. This is exactly where B-Tux has shined in the labs. If it doesn’t work there, forget it. Viral has been helpful in getting enough patients to prove initial safety and efficacy. But at this point it’s almost a red herring in terms of commercial success. There is too much competition for PPHM to dominate in viral.

However, consider cancer in the context of Abigail Alliance. Remember that case, decided in May by the DC Court of Appeals? It held that patients have a right to any drug that has completed Phase One, if the patient is dying. Now go back to India and suppose that pancreatic cancer patients show success with SOC and B-Tux. There currently is no treatment at all for pancreatic cancer: you get it, it spreads to your liver and you die in months.

If B-Tux works at all in India, any patient with pancreatic cancer can file suit against the FDA and demand access to it and they will get it. This could happen NEXT SUMMER. Ditto for patients with virulent forms of breast and lung cancer. Get your doctor to sign an affidavit saying you are dying of cancer and file suit in the US District Court wherever you live demanding immediate access to B-Tux. So much for a ponderous, 5 year wait to get through Phase 3 to market. It will force the FDA to make it available to dying patients immediately.

One other thing. The company will plow through its 25 million pretty quickly. However, by the time they have to dilute again they will know whether B-Tux works in combo therapy in cancer patients. They won’t have announced, but internally they will know. At that point, I could care less if they go back to UU and dilute (yes, I know this is heresy). Anything they do to remain independent until they announce Phase I(b) cancer results will be great with me. Who cares if they dilute, because the company will be ready to go on the auction block to the highest bidder.

If PPHM can take the SOC in cancer, combine in with B-Tux and cure or greatly prolong the lives of dying cancer patients, it will be a gold mine. Next year we will finally know, one way or the other, whether Peregrine should be selling for a nickel a share or $25+ a share. I can’t wait to find out.

Big-on,

Do bunnies eat crow?

God forbid, that Thorpe and Peregrine decided to focus on AC because they have seen very promising results in the AC studies....

Thorpe wants to cure or control cancer....

When i see him give up, i will as well....

Have a nice day!!!
