One thing I learned in dealing with cancer in my family is that you just can't go by the averages. There are some who die immediately, and others who live on and beat the disease. Every individual is different.

In Arizona the governor appoints someone to take over the seat and it mush be the same political party. Arizona has a Republican governor so McCain's seat is safe.
