I'm not sure the accounts need to line every office and ever considered the possibility that the travel cost declarations could have exceeded the cost of that office. I'm not sure this is worth worrying about, unless you have serious indications he hired a whole building or so.

I'm afraid it's simply a fact of life management of companies have a certain leeway in decisions how and where to allocate their staff and so far I've seen precious little indication to show that Destiny has been terribly wasteful in this, or any other department.

I looked up the the location where the DSNY Sunnyvale, CA 'sales office' was back in 2016. It appeared to me to be a place where tech types could meet, greet and/or collaborate under one roof. Yoshi's 'office' might have just been a cubicle there.

Sunnyvale Office Removed From Contacts

I noticed the Sunnyvale, CA 'office' located at the "Plug and Play Tech Center" has been removed from the DSNY 'Contact' page:

I believe this is/was where departed board member Yoshitaro Kumagai may have had a presence. In the grand scope of things I don't believe it's closure will have any negative impact and hopefully the money saved there could be better spent elsewhere.
