Results weren't great and indicate at a minimum it will likely cost much more to continue testing and development.
I can't help but wonder if some participants (consciously or unconsciously) said it didn't help their pain so that the doctor would prescribe them opiods instead. CARA's medication doesn't have the euphoria and other positive side-effects that opioids do, which is of course why opoids are so addictive.
