jhalada, that's fortunately true, but wbmw point was that the best compiler for Opteron is still Intel's one, and it will not support AMD64 in any rate. So the 64 bit selling point is rather muted. Opteron is as fast in 32 as in 64. And I think that the problem is mostly Fortran, as it is much harder to optimise comparing with C. I hope that 100% C benchmarks will show 64 bit faster than 32 (because of more registers).
