Christie Todd and Steve Forbes went to school together, I believe - both came from privileged families. Christie ultimately married John Whitman and they had 2 children. Although they owned a home in Princeton, they also owned a farm in the northwest part of NJ.
At one time, NJ offered tax breaks to small farm owners - something called farmland preservation. I knew a couple who raised a few sheep, which qualified as owning a farm. They had then sheered, sold the wool, and produced the necessary paperwork to qualify for a tax break, (I'm sure I was paying more NJ property tax than they were).
