it will be doctor driven imo... most patients will follow doctor advice... and insurance? if early detection saves money, insurers will follow... i would compare it with cologuard...

but probably easier w/ blood vs turd

cologuard $599

swg_trd, nice info. IMO insurance companies, if there premium covers cancer, will IMPOSE a yearly test, knowing that it will save them money in the treatment.

And as in the US 1 on 3 now gets a cancer (and Europe will not be for away from that either) they know that every 3 preventive tests will cut down on one expensive 1st+2nd+3rd suite of treatments and tackle the problem in 1st line. So that may force some people into taking the test.

Then, there are ALL TESTS that are done today already (by other means). Why wouldn't they be replaced with a single, simple, fast and cheap test that will tell them even more then a specific test for a give cancer that first required other pre-diagnostic action (pain->see Doctor->let's check x,y,z, take a radio, etc).

And then there will be the evolving, the entering in culture, of the test when people start to report that early detection saved them. Or why do people take an annual with their doctor? That category WANTS TO KNOW why otherwise take an annual. I wonder if we ask people that take an annual if they would say: NO, check me out but don't check if I have cancer, just tell me if I risk a heart attack. Does that make sense?

Finally, it will be different in Europe with strong social security and a don't let anyone die if we can attitude and the US everybody for themselves approach. So Europe could very fast be a very strong market for the test as we learned that prevention SAVES money. (Prostate, Uterus, Breast, Intestinal in oncology, up to TWO yearly check dental for a flat 50,- Euro and about 45+,- paid back or totally paid back for young and old people, eye-pressure, etc).

a 34 year old psychiatrist with provocative legs and provocatively argued views (no matter my facts!)--she thought any tests must be DNA based as cancer is inherited, so our test should cost $25,000 as such was a DNA defect tests for her fetus, a n d interesting, most people do not want to know if they have cancer, "are in denial", as "having cancer would have them be shunned " -- adding "believe me, I have talked to my clients". Wow.

Excuse her, it's a psychiatrist, that is how they are. They rather die then say they are wrong :)
