Although ZGEN’s drug is a recombinant form of thrombin, the biological opposite of antithrombin, these results are of interest to GTC in that recombinant plasma proteins are safer than those derived from plasma, whether the plasma is human, bovine, or from some another animal.

I would not want to be one of the companies who sells plasma-derived thrombin when ZGEN’s product is approved for marketing.
