Millions of acres between the Rockies and the Mississippi can be used as the "Saudi Arabia" of wind... Years ago it was calculated thta it could be generated at <.05 per kwh. Trucking it is a problem though. Infrastructure has fallen into disrepair and getting that energy from the source to the coastal metropoli is the major stumbling block.
Now that would be a project worthy of us. We could run railroads, reduce emissions and leave our children on a more stable footing than the one we inherited. Instead we choose to invest our blood and treasure conquering the world's remaining oil for Exxon.
Oh wait though. You're actually supportive of that. Good choice.
