If you have read it as well, what are your thoughts is relation to how many different ways there may possibly be to create a PIC , and would this patent (if granted) be an obstacle for all others in building PIC's ? (including Lightwave)
I just going to post it here because I have no clue or very little understanding what 'dielectrics' mean. I thought that Lebby said something in an article of PIC international but can't find it. (edit:just found it)
In addition to incumbent PIC technologies such as InP and GaAs, we heard updates on Silicon Photonics (SiP), Polymer Photonics (PP), as well as a new category, Dielectric Photonics (DP).
I just saw something coming out from Dow Chemical and dielectrics packaging.
