Great points, Nasdaq2020. What is important to understand about the opioid pain med market is that the market growth goes beyond the ability to be control by merely curbing prescriptions to reduce both addiction and abuse. According to DEA records/news...law enforcement has long struggled with this, doctors remain confused and improperly trained about pain management and, amidst all of this the population is irrefutably aging at a faster pace than ever before, courtesy of Baby-Boomers. And, to be certain, this is on a global basis because WWII was a global enterprise. So, while sociopolitical-legal and regulatory efforts may seek to impact the issues of abuse and addition, it remains there is need for strong pain meds and this need will remain unabated for the longer term future. These are the environmental factors that strategists consider and remain in place as companies seek to gain approvals of ADFs. Because this will tip the barriers to entry in the opioid pain med market, the competition will be intense to garner early approvals. Nonetheless, because of size, growth, and market competition no one will need to own a monopoly position to gain a strong financial return. Elite is well positioned to compete and, as we have seen from the many competitors seeking to gain entry by virtue of ADFs, no one is stopping because they fear they will not come in first or second. To not understand competitive product markets is a fundamental mistake real business executives who run real companies cannot afford to make, even when investors do.
