100% agree. In fact, spoke w a medtech exec last week that ethicon/jnj would have a clause in their agreement w Patel that would prevent him from consulting w a potential competitive company/product.

Ive worked in the industry since 1999. I started in sales. We used to actively recruit KOLs who consulted for other companies, including competitors. Ive seen it first-hand. It's a source of revenue for them. I dont discount the fact a company, like Verb or ISRG, would cut ties with a KOL for doing it but having "the best in the business" back your product means something. Does Patel see something in SPORT that could benefit him? Yes, most likely. Which is great for us. But it simply is not uncommon for these guys to speak for and consult for more than one company in their fields of expertise.
