Lawyer planning to sue Baidu-Pacific Epoch
Securities Daily reports that Beijing lawyer Zhang Xinwei is planning to sue Chinese search service provider Baidu (BIDU) over its bid ranking service. The lawyer signed a contract with Baidu to promote his law firm on May 31 and paid 1,999 Yuan. The click rate was set at 0.3 Yuan at the time of signing, but Baidu changed its prices on June 2. Zhang said he has been contacted by many other Baidu clients and hopes to help them sue as well.
AOL software gets "bad" label-WSJ
A nonprofit group called StopBadware.org has sneered at the software powering Time Warner's (TWX) new free service from AOL, labeling it "badware" because it is bundled with several software programs that it says are installed without the proper disclosure or consent of users. StopBadware is funded by Google (GOOG), Sun Microsystems (SUNW) and Lenovo Group.
