Georgia’s new self defense bill - No duty to retreat.

Popularly referred to as the “Castle Doctrine” by the NRA, similar “Stand your ground” legislation is passing all over the country. While it is an interesting concept, my impression of Georgia law has always been that if there was an intruder in your home, you are justified in killing them.

This bill codifies that premise and may go quite a bit further. You now have no duty to retreat in the use of force (even deadly force) in the defense of self or others, the defense of habitation, and the defense of property other than habitation. In addition to being immune from prosecution, you are also immune from civil liability for the use of such force.

AN ACT

To amend Article 2 of Chapter 3 of Title 16 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to justification and excuse as a defense to certain crimes, so as to provide that a person who is attacked has no duty to retreat; to provide that such person has a right to meet force with force, including deadly force; to provide for civil immunity; to amend Article 1 of Chapter 11 of Title 51 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions relative to defense to tort actions, so as to provide for civil immunity; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

it means bodily harm i think not menacing words, but like all things its political. for example a muslim feels threatened by jewish middle aged pregnant women in seattle, so he shoots them.

the muslim communittee also feels threatened by the president of the ADL possessing a toy canon with some powder to go boom, like are sold in the back of comic books. So they got homeland security to kill him

Israelis feel threatened when missiles fall on their hospitals. But they are not allowed to stop them
