when you say " have more than 80% odds that the former scenario will evolve.", what do you mean?

historically, July ties with January as the month that marked the most major tops. i am thinking this statistic may have held again...

There is a problem with overlap in that area. Actually, we've already got overlap on the COMP today's highs (slightly above the 1675.18 low last week), so the hard down near term scenario some folks are looking for is not going to be a favorite for me.

If this happens, we could still get an extension of the drop to COMP 1613 after a correction up later this week. That would need to be followed by another move up in early September before a furious downdraft could start in earnest, IMO.
