In my very limited experience (only been in game for 6 years now) I have seen it twice clearly. It may have happened before in front of me without me noticing prior to my knowledge....

I assume it happens fairly regularly in this atmosphere of retrieving lost money.
I told a story once here where my return went from $120k to $20k....solely because of prefered units. I had accurately forecasted when cash would run out, the value of assets...and the value they would be bought out.
Just didn't forecast preferred units...I call it another learning experience.

Some would cry foul. Unfair. Illegal...I call it my ignorance...it was legal.

I chose my name for a reason. I have never waivered from my desire to learn.
