Cindy, this was the starting point for my DD; I got it and it read something like this:
INFORMATION ABOUT SEC INVESTIGATIONS
Each year, blah blah blah, yadda yadda yadda, giberish, blah blah....
Or you can obtain hard copies by contacting us at:...
So I called and got it translated.
Bottom line: they have to review and follow up every complaint, but do not investigate even a tiny portion of those. If they do decide to investigate, they will not let us know, but will let the company know and we can call and ask the company.
The fact that the company knows it's being investigated doesn't, imo, help us any. If company says they are not being investigated, we have no idea if they are telling the truth or lying; if a company comes out and says 'yes we are being investigated, one would assume they have nothing to hide and that investigation will reveal nothing. Then again, they could also figure we would think they were fine if they told us they were being investigated, when in fact they are not and so on and so forth
(the whole thing reminds me of that scene in Princess Bride where the guy is trying to figure out which of two glasses has poison in it... Piece of advice here: if you haven't seen Princess Bride, take 90 minutes off of this board and watch it - it's a classic for all ages! Even my tough-as-nails, Mr. Cool, tattoo artist bf loves it and will watch it over and over again!)
Anyhow, what I posted was the plain English Cliff Notes to a bunch of words contained in that 'official' statement - I too didn't understand what I read, so I had it translated.
I hope it helped clarify things for you too Cindy :-)
