Think about those $7000 handbags. Is it that the leather is made from cows that live on an island paradise and their skin is rubbed on the hour with the blood of virgins that make it expensive, or is it the guicci label they are paying for and the leather comes from the same place my belt came from?
Kraig is not a high fashion name. They will sell their silk to distributers who will sell to high fashion designers without us knowing who is using it until it comes out on the runway.
High fashion designers use the same high quality products that everyone else uses. They get more because of the name.
Also I doubt high fashion produces enough clothing to keep a textile company in business. When the novelty of spidersilk wears off high fashion will move on to the next fad.
