Insys has never sold opioid pills as claimed in "pill mill" tabloid headlines. Its Subsys mist provides the fastest relief to breakthrough cancer and other extreme pain which itself can kill.
There is no excuse for inducing or feeding addictions but the frantic, emotional drive against the fastest and most powerful pain relief for patients in agony is criminal in itself.
INSY is now involved in R&D of its patented delivery technology for cannabinoid therapy and pain relief.
Marijuana is junk wording with no clear definition such that rabid drug warriors have often not even distinguished between industrial uses of cannabis with zero psychoactive substances and pure THC, the only known psychoactive chemical in any cannabis plant. It is speculated there are other such chemicals but no one truly knows since even scientific analysis of cannabis plants has been outlawed beyond extreme regulation.
Certainly INSY's future with Subsys sales is very uncertain and conscienceless prosecutions and judgments may yet destroy INSY as an operating company, one can expect that there might remain very valuable technology even then beyond the reach of the purported vengeful virgins.
For the record, there is no known cannabinoid chemical that can match the pain relief of Subsys by itself but there are therapeutic uses of synthetic THC that the FDA approved over 20 years ago.
