Because the audio and video quality is much better (read: perfect every time), the interface is way nicer, and you don't have to go hunting for a better rip (dvdrip, cam, brrip, dvdscr).
It's just a pain in the ass. I use Netflix or Amazon whenever I can before resorting to any 3rd party streaming site
