Far from it. I saw this problem early in my career, as I had spent three years building a landscape company, only to finally come to grips that I did not want to compete with illegal immigrant labor. I chose a career that required a high degree of communicating, and that eliminated most of the illegal labor competition. Some of my friends chose careers like plumbing or electrical. Those require school, so that eliminated a lot of there illegal labor competition. And, for my friends that chose to swing a hammer or mix any kind of mud, well they are just Fucked!

Unions are their own worst enemy. There's a reason the economies in the south are better than those in the North, it boils down to cheaper labor who actually want to work.
I had a Union company and I can spot a Union worker from a mile away. They are the ones eating donuts at 10AM and driving 40 MPH in their trucks on the freeway.
