Elmer, I think you guys are putting too much stock in a CEO's capability of pushing a new micro-architecture. To me, I think of the CEO as a public figurehead, as the guy/gal who gets the big business deals to happen by making a phone call, and the one who approves the business strategy and sends a memo out once a year that tells the company which direction to go in. I don't think the CEO has much of anything to do with which micro-architecture comes out as the next processor generation. That's a technical detail that a CEO's subordinates will deal with, and the only time a CEO sees the results is after the product launches and he/she can watch the revenue coming in.
