I was agreeing with you - there is no reason to "knock" Anavex results. I used the same term you used. Anavex 2-72 does affect the cause of the disease in restoring homeostasis to brain function. Stimulating growth of synapses is a different MOA but both drugs are doing more than treating symptoms.

So far the compassionate use examples given here are focusing on early onset genetic defects which could need an entirely different treatment regimen than later onset Alzheimer's. Too much is unknown at this point.

When time permits I will look into this further, but from what I've read Alzheimer's later in life may not be genetically determined, many factors come into play.
